Limited Company Bookkeeper

Your limited company books, sorted.

Most limited company directors end up doing their own bookkeeping because it never quite makes it onto anyone else’s plate. Between director payroll, VAT returns and year-end accounts, the admin is significant — and the cost of falling behind compounds quickly. Fixed monthly fee, ICAEW chartered, same-day replies.

  • Books clean and current every month — no year-end scramble
  • Corporation tax position visible well before HMRC sends the reminder
  • VAT returns filed on time, MTD compliant as standard
  • A named ICAEW chartered accountant who answers questions the day you ask them

No long-term contract. If it is not working after three months, you leave with clean books and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?

Still doing your own books because no one else gets it?

Running a limited company means director payroll, quarterly VAT, Companies House filings and a corporation tax return — all on top of actually running the business. Most directors end up handling the bookkeeping themselves, not because they enjoy it, but because handing it over feels complicated. It is not. It just takes the right setup, and it is solvable — it just takes longer the more you leave it.

  • Hours spent on bookkeeping that should be spent on the business
  • No clear picture of the corporation tax bill until it is nearly due
  • VAT deadlines, payroll submissions and Companies House filings managed in a spreadsheet

What sorted looks like

Monthly bookkeeping handled on Xero, records clean and current. Your tax position visible throughout the year, not just at filing time. VAT, payroll and statutory filings done as a matter of course — not as a last-minute scramble.

  • Bookkeeping off your plate — handled monthly, nothing left to catch up
  • Corporation tax position clear well before the payment deadline
  • VAT, payroll and Companies House filings handled as standard
  • One fixed monthly fee — no extra charges when you have a question

Why Swift

Why limited company directors choose Swift

There is no shortage of accountants. Here is what is different about working with one who treats your limited company as an ongoing concern, not an annual event.

📒

Books current, not just year-end

Monthly bookkeeping means your records are never more than a few weeks behind. Director payroll, VAT, expense categorisation — all handled as they happen rather than reconstructed under pressure in January. Your accounts reflect where the business actually stands.

💬

Replies the same day

Questions get answered the day you ask them. Not logged, not queued, not passed to a junior — answered. If you want to know whether a piece of equipment is deductible or how to handle a director loan, you will have an answer before the end of the day.

🔒

One fixed price, agreed upfront

Your monthly fee covers bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and year-end accounts for one clear amount. No hourly billing, no invoice that arrives larger than expected, no charge every time you send an email. Your accounting costs are as predictable as any other fixed overhead.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

From enquiry to everything being handled in four steps. No complicated onboarding, no forms that need a lawyer.

1

Send your enquiry

Fill in the form on this page. Kieran reads every enquiry personally and responds the same day with a clear next step. No automated holding messages, no waiting to be assigned to someone.

2

A short discovery call

Around twenty minutes to understand your company setup, current software and what needs attention. By the end of the call you will know exactly what is covered, what it costs and what happens next.

3

We handle the setup

Your Xero account is connected, your records are brought up to date and everything is configured correctly. You confirm you want to proceed — that is about the extent of what you need to do.

4

Ongoing — nothing falls through

Monthly bookkeeping, quarterly VAT, director payroll, year-end accounts and corporation tax — handled as a matter of course. Your tax position is visible throughout the year. Surprises are largely avoidable when the books are current.

Questions

Questions limited company directors usually ask first

Yes — director payroll, RTI submissions to HMRC and dividend planning are all part of the service. Getting the salary and dividend split right is one of the more consequential decisions a limited company director makes each year, and it is included rather than treated as an extra.
Once your books are current, your tax liability becomes visible throughout the year rather than only at filing time. Most clients have a reasonable estimate of what they owe three to four months before it is due — long enough to plan for it, not just react to it.
It is why most people come to us. Getting up to date takes a little longer at the start and may cost slightly more — we will tell you upfront what that looks like before any work begins. Once current, keeping it current is straightforward.
No. Month-to-month, cancel with a month’s notice. We would rather keep clients because the service is worth it than because leaving is inconvenient.
