Shopify Bookkeeper

Your Shopify books, sorted.

Running a Shopify store produces more financial admin than most sellers expect. Settlement reports, payment gateway fees, app charges, refunds — and a VAT threshold that can creep closer than the revenue dashboard suggests. Fixed monthly fee, ICAEW chartered, same-day replies.

  • Shopify payouts reconciled monthly — no year-end scramble
  • Know your tax position well before HMRC sends the reminder
  • VAT threshold monitored — no unexpected registration obligations
  • A bookkeeper who already knows how Shopify pays out

No long-term contract. If it is not working after three months, you leave with clean books and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?

Shopify books behind and VAT threshold creeping?

The bigger your Shopify store gets, the messier the numbers become. Settlement payouts that do not match the bank, gateway fees buried in the wrong places, a VAT threshold closer than you realised, and a tax return looming with records that need serious work. None of it is insurmountable — it just takes longer the more you leave it.

  • Hours lost trying to reconcile Shopify payouts against bank statements
  • No clear view of the tax position until the bill is almost due
  • VAT threshold approaching with no system in place to monitor it

What sorted looks like

Shopify payouts reconciled every month, gateway fees and app charges categorised correctly. Your tax position visible throughout the year, not just when the deadline lands. VAT monitored as a matter of course — you will not be surprised by a registration obligation.

  • Shopify books clean and reconciled every month — no year-end archaeology
  • Tax position visible well before HMRC asks for payment
  • VAT threshold tracked and managed — no unexpected obligations
  • A fixed monthly cost that does not move regardless of how many questions you ask

We work with eCommerce businesses across the UK. Here are two clients who came to us in much the same situation you are probably in now.

★★★★★

Kieran at Swift is super! He helped and bailed me out of the last minute panic of tax and Companies House returns. He’s on the ball, quick at responding, patient with me and got the job done stress free, plus his rates are very competitive.

What you get

What your monthly fee covers

Three things that keep your Shopify books clean, your tax position clear and your admin manageable — for one fixed monthly fee.

01

Monthly Shopify Bookkeeping

Every Shopify payout, payment gateway fee, refund and app charge categorised and reconciled monthly against your bank account. Your records are current and accurate throughout the year — no scramble when the tax return comes around.

Included as standard
02

VAT Returns and MTD Compliance

Quarterly VAT returns prepared and filed with HMRC, Making Tax Digital compliant as standard. Your VAT threshold is monitored throughout the year so a registration obligation does not arrive without warning.

Quarterly, fixed fee
03

Year-End Accounts and Corporation Tax

Annual accounts, CT600 and Companies House confirmation statement all handled in one fixed fee. Because the books are current throughout the year, the year-end process rarely throws up surprises.

Why Swift

Why Shopify sellers choose Swift

There is no shortage of accountants and bookkeepers. Here is what is different about working with one who already knows how Shopify works.

🛍️

No explaining how Shopify works

Settlement payouts, Shopify Payments fees, third-party gateway charges, refund flows — you will not need to spend fifteen minutes explaining your business before getting a useful answer. We work with eCommerce sellers every day. Ask a question, get an answer.

💬

Replies the same day

Questions get answered the day you ask them. Not logged, not queued, not passed to a junior. If you want to know whether a platform subscription is deductible or how to categorise a Shopify refund, you will know before the end of the day.

🔒

One price, clearly agreed

Your monthly fee is fixed and does not move. No hourly billing, no invoice that arrives larger than expected because of a busy quarter. Your bookkeeping costs are as predictable as any other fixed overhead.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

Four steps from enquiry to everything being handled. No complicated onboarding, no forms that need a specialist to complete.

1

Send your enquiry

Fill in the form on this page. Kieran reads every enquiry and responds the same day with a clear next step. No automated holding messages.

2

A short discovery call

Twenty minutes to understand your Shopify setup, current software and what needs sorting. At the end of the call you will know exactly what is covered, what it costs and when we can start.

3

We handle the setup

Your accounting software is connected, your Shopify feed is configured and your records are brought up to date. You do not need to do anything except confirm you want to proceed.

4

Ongoing — nothing falls through

Monthly bookkeeping, quarterly VAT, annual accounts — handled as a matter of course. You will know your tax position well before it becomes urgent. Surprises are largely avoidable when the books are current.

Questions

Questions Shopify sellers usually ask first

Yes — you will not need to explain the difference between gross sales and net settlement before getting a useful answer. Shopify Payments payouts, third-party gateway fees, refunds and app subscriptions are all categorised correctly from the start. It is not unusual complexity for us.
Once your books are current, your tax position becomes visible throughout the year rather than only at the end of it. Most clients have a reasonable idea of what they owe three to four months before the deadline — long enough to plan, not just react.
It is why most people come to us. Getting up to date takes a little longer at the start and may cost slightly more — we will tell you upfront before any work begins. Once current, keeping it current is straightforward.
No. Month-to-month, cancel with a month’s notice. We would rather keep clients because the service is worth it than because leaving is inconvenient.
