Partnership Accounts Devon

Your Devon partnership accounts, handled properly.

Running a partnership brings enough complexity without the accounts becoming another source of tension between partners. Profit allocations, the SA800 return, individual partner self-assessments, VAT — each one has a deadline and a consequence for missing it. Fixed monthly fee, ICAEW chartered, same-day replies.

  • Partnership SA800 filed accurately and on time every year
  • Each partner’s tax position visible well before self-assessment deadlines
  • Profit allocations and bookkeeping kept clean throughout the year
  • HMRC correspondence handled — less of it lands on your desk

No long-term contract. If it is not working after three months, you leave with clean books and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?

Partnership accounts piling up with no one in charge of them?

Partnerships rarely have a natural owner for the accounts. The SA800 needs filing, each partner needs their own self-assessment done correctly, profit allocations need documenting, and VAT does not pause for internal disagreements about who is handling it. The longer it sits, the more catches up with you. It is all manageable — it just takes longer the more you leave it.

  • SA800 partnership return due with records that have not been properly maintained
  • Partners uncertain of their individual tax positions until the bill actually arrives
  • Profit sharing arrangements undocumented and difficult to justify to HMRC

What a well-run partnership looks like

Your SA800 filed on time, every year. Each partner’s self-assessment prepared from records that are already in order. Profit allocations documented clearly so there is nothing to argue about come year-end — and nothing for HMRC to question.

  • SA800 prepared and filed with accurate, up-to-date records behind it
  • Each partner knows their tax position well before the payment deadline
  • Profit allocations documented and consistent year on year
  • One fixed monthly cost covering the whole partnership — no surprises per partner

What you get

What your monthly fee covers

Three core elements that keep your partnership compliant, your records accurate and your tax position visible throughout the year — for one fixed monthly fee.

01

Partnership Accounts and SA800

Your annual partnership accounts prepared and the SA800 return filed with HMRC on time. Records are kept current throughout the year so there is no scramble at year-end and nothing needs reconstructing from a pile of bank statements.

Filed on time, every year
02

Partner Self-Assessment Returns

Each partner’s personal self-assessment return prepared and filed based on their share of partnership profits. Tax positions are calculated correctly, deadlines are met and each partner knows what they owe before HMRC asks.

Per partner, clearly priced
03

Bookkeeping and VAT Compliance

Monthly bookkeeping on Xero keeps your partnership records accurate and up to date. If you are VAT-registered, quarterly returns are prepared and filed under Making Tax Digital — no chasing, no missed deadlines.

MTD compliant as standard

Why Swift

Why Devon partnerships choose Swift

There is no shortage of accountants in Devon. Here is what tends to matter when you are choosing one to handle accounts that affect more than one person.

🤝

Partnership compliance handled end to end

The SA800, individual partner returns, profit allocation records and VAT — each with its own deadline and its own consequence for getting it wrong. All of it is handled under one fee, so nothing is someone else’s job and nothing falls through the gap between two sets of instructions.

💬

Questions answered the same day

Partnership decisions often come with immediate tax implications — a change in profit share, a new partner joining, a draw made at an awkward time in the tax year. Questions get answered the day you ask them. Not next week, not after the quarterly review.

🔒

One fixed fee, clearly agreed

Your monthly fee is agreed before anything starts and does not move. No hourly billing across multiple partners, no unexpected invoice when the SA800 takes longer than expected. Your accounting costs are as predictable as any other fixed overhead the partnership carries.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

From first enquiry to everything being handled, the process is straightforward. No complicated onboarding, no forms that need a lawyer to understand.

1

Send your enquiry

Fill in the form on this page. Kieran reads every enquiry personally and responds the same day with a clear next step. No automated holding messages.

2

A short discovery call

Around twenty minutes to understand how the partnership is structured, what records exist and what needs sorting. At the end of the call, you will know exactly what is covered and what it costs — before committing to anything.

3

We handle the setup

Your accounting software is connected, records are brought up to date and partnership details are documented correctly. You do not need to do anything except confirm you want to proceed.

4

Ongoing — nothing falls through

Bookkeeping updated monthly, VAT filed quarterly, SA800 and partner returns handled at year-end as a matter of course. Each partner knows their tax position well before it becomes urgent. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.

Questions

Questions Devon partnerships usually ask first

Yes — both are covered. The SA800 is filed for the partnership, and each partner’s personal self-assessment return is prepared from their allocated share of profits. The two are done together so nothing is inconsistent and no deadlines are missed.
Once the books are current, each partner’s tax position becomes visible well before the January deadline — typically three to four months out. That is generally long enough to plan ahead rather than scramble to find the funds when the payment notice arrives.
It is why most partnerships come to us. Getting up to date takes a little longer at the start and may cost slightly more — we will tell you exactly what that looks like before any work begins. Once current, keeping it current is straightforward.
No. The arrangement is month-to-month with a month’s notice to leave. We would rather keep clients because the service is worth having than because the exit is inconvenient.
